What’s next in agriculture will take center stage at the 2027 Iowa Ag Expo, February 2-4 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

As “America’s Most Forward-Looking Ag Expo,” the Iowa Ag Expo will once again feature its Innovation Hubs, dedicated spaces designed to introduce producers to emerging technologies, new products and companies working to solve some of agriculture’s biggest challenges.

The Innovation Hubs provide a unique opportunity for farmers and agricultural professionals to see technologies they may not encounter in a traditional exhibit setting. From robotics and artificial intelligence to drones, autonomous equipment, precision agriculture and other emerging technologies, the Hubs showcase ideas that have the potential to change the way agriculture is done.

“The Innovation Hubs are one of the best examples of what makes the Iowa Ag Expo forward-looking,” said Andy Tank, Expo Director. “We’re bringing innovative companies and agricultural producers together in one place so they can see, ask questions and explore the technologies that could shape the future of their operations.”

Innovation Hubs Continue to Grow

The Innovation Hubs have become an important part of the Iowa Ag Expo’s focus on agricultural innovation. In 2026, 47 companies participated across two Innovation Hub locations at the Iowa Events Center—the Ballroom level of the Community Choice Convention Center and the Casey’s Center floor.

The 2027 Innovation Hubs will again feature two locations, giving attendees additional opportunities to discover new technologies throughout the Expo.

Companies participating in the Innovation Hubs are selected through an application process designed to identify products and technologies that demonstrate meaningful innovation and advancement within agriculture. The program welcomes emerging companies, entrepreneurs, startups and established manufacturers that are developing new solutions for the industry.

Past Innovation Hub participants are also encouraged to reapply, creating an opportunity for companies to continue showcasing new developments as their technologies evolve.

What Qualifies for the Innovation Hubs?

Innovation Hub participants are selected based on several key criteria:

  • New and Innovative Products: Products must demonstrate genuine innovation and represent a meaningful advancement in agriculture. Simply updating or making minor revisions to an existing product does not meet the criteria.
  • Selective Application Process: Companies are selected through an application process focused on identifying innovative products, technologies and solutions. Startups, entrepreneurs and established companies developing new agricultural technologies are all encouraged to apply.
  • Continued Innovation: Previous Innovation Hub participants may reapply as they introduce new products or technologies, allowing the program to continue highlighting the latest developments from companies already participating in the Expo.

“Through the Innovation Hubs, we want to create a place where producers can discover technologies that may not yet be widely known across the industry,” Tank said. “It’s about connecting the people developing these solutions with the people who will ultimately use them.”

Innovation Beyond the Hubs

While the Innovation Hubs provide a dedicated showcase for emerging technologies, innovation can be found throughout the Iowa Ag Expo.

The Expo features hundreds of companies representing virtually every segment of agriculture, from major equipment manufacturers and precision agriculture companies to crop production, livestock, data management and other agricultural products and services.

Companies that do not meet the specific Innovation Hub criteria are still encouraged to participate in the Iowa Ag Expo through the general exhibitor application process. This allows the Expo to provide a broad marketplace of agricultural products and services while maintaining the Innovation Hubs as a curated destination for emerging technologies.
